Biden aides discover second batch of classified documents

In an exclusive to NBC News, an unnamed source reported Wednesday that aides to US President Joe Biden have  discovered at least one more batch of classified documents from the Obama administration. The documents were found in a location separate from the office Biden used after serving as Vice President in the Obama administration.

The exclusive does not disclose the number or classification level of the documents. However, it does note that the documents are reportedly being reviewed by Biden’s aides to determine if they need to be provided to the US National Archives. The exclusive also notes that the documents are being reviewed to assess if they need to be provided to the Justice Department.

This follows a White House announcement on Monday which announced that a “small number” of classified documents were found in a think-tank office used by Biden after he vacated the vice president’s office in 2017.

In October last year, the National Archives told Congress that the Trump administration did not return all classified records, after Trump’s home in Mar-a-Lago was searched for classified documents.
