The Supreme Court of Florida on Wednesday approved the Florida Board of Bar Examiners to administer an online bar exam in August.
The Florida bar exam was originally set to take place in person from July 28-29. However, widespread concerns about the potential of contracting COVID-19 prompted many to urge the Florida Board of Bar Examiners to consider alternative means to an in-person test.
The Florida Board of Bar Examiners have made several adjustments to the bar given the online format. Applicants for the August 2020 bar exam cycle do not need to take the Multistate Bar Examination in order to exhibit mastery of the law. Rather, in order to become barred in Florida, applicants need to score 136 or better and simply have a passing score on the Multistate Professional Responsibility Examination.
The online bar exam is set to take place on August 18, 2020.
