Iran approves bill labeling US military as terrorist organization

Iran’s Parliament approved a bill on Tuesday labeling the US military and Pentagon terrorist organizations following the death of Gen. Qassem Soleimani.

According to Iranian state media, the triple-urgency bill designates the US army and Pentagon as a terrorist entity and further requires the government to allocate €200 million to the Islamic Revolution Guards Corps (IRGC) Quds Force to retaliate for the assassination of Soleimani.

The bill was previously ratified on April 23, 2019, and designated the US Central Command as a terrorist organization after the US administration labeled the IRGC as a terrorist entity. Iran’s Parliament amended the bill to classify as terrorists all members of the Pentagon, the affiliated companies and institutes and commanders and those who ordered for the assassination of Soleimani.

The Iranian legislators unanimously voted for the bill, where the members of the Guardian Council vetting body where also present to endorse it into a law immediately.
