The Department of Justice (DOJ) [official website] on Saturday submitted a regulation to the Office of Management and Budget (OMB) [official website] that would ban [press release] devices that allow guns to rapid-fire.
The regulation would revise the definition of “machinegun” in the National Firearms Act and Gun Control Act [text, PDF] to include bump stock type devices and proposes that the federal prohibit the possession, sale, or manufacture of such devices.
