[JURIST announcement] You may have noticed some changes to JURIST over the course of the last month, to put it mildly. First, the top of the page was taken over by a big banner screaming about our Fall 2013 Fundraising Drive. Second, your objective legal news coverage has been occasionally interrupted by entreaties from yours truly asking for your financial support, which has fairly nothing to do with the news. I assure you that we haven’t undertaken these changes lightly.
Our goal in splashing our drive across the top of every page and in me writing to you in the first person is to call attention to one simple fact: we need the financial support of our readers to keep going. JURIST has made remarkable strides over its 17 year history, and will doubtless make many more in the future with your help.
So, if you’ve already shown us some love by making a donation, know that we all appreciate it, and you can stop reading. If you haven’t had a chance to make a donation to support our Fall Fundraising Drive, please consider doing so now. You only have a few more hours to make a donation to JURIST before the drive is done.
If all of our readers kicked in $10, we could probably buy an airport or something. Appreciating that we probably don’t need an airport, I would nonetheless ask you to consider whether JURIST is worth $10, $25 or more to you, and if so, to make a donation proving it. Rest assured, if you missed the Fall 2013 Fundraising Drive, your financial support is always welcome.
Also, take comfort in the fact that you won’t be forced to look at that banner for much longer.
