SUMMARY:

The Food and Drug Administration (FDA or we) is announcing the withdrawal, without prejudice to a future filing, of a food additive petition (FAP 2280) proposing that the food additive regulations be amended to provide for the safe use of 25-hydroxyvitamin D3 in feed for swine.

DATES:

The food additive petition was withdrawn on September 13, 2017.

SUPPLEMENTARY INFORMATION:

In a notice published in the Federal Register of March 25, 2014 (79 FR 16252), we announced that we had filed a food additive petition (FAP 2280), submitted by DSM Nutritional Products, 45 Waterview Blvd., Parsippany, NJ 07054. The petition proposed to amend the food additive regulations in 21 CFR part 573, Food Additives Permitted in Feed and Drinking Water of Animals, to provide for the safe use of 25-hydroxyvitamin D3 in feed for swine. DSM Nutritional Products, Inc. has now withdrawn the petition without prejudice to a future filing (21 CFR 571.7).
