Schwarzenegger signed legislation increasing legal aid funds

On October 11, 2007, California Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger signed legislation designed to increase funding for legal aid representation for low-income California residents. The legal aid provided through these funds includes representation in areas of housing, family law, domestic violence, health, disability and foster care.The law added roughly $200 million per year provided by the state to legal aid programs, from federal, state and private funds.
