ICTY confirms indictments against Croatian journalists Brandon Smith at 1:11 PM ET [JURIST] International Criminal Tribunal for the former Yugoslavia [official website] Judge Alphons Orie has confirmed and unsealed indictments [ICTY press release] against Croatian journalists Josip Jovic and Marijan Krizic. Jovic and Krizic, charged with one count each of contempt of the tribunal under Rule 77 of the UN court's Rules of Procedure and Evidence [text] for allegedly revealing the identity of a protected ICTY witness in the Tihomir Blaskic case [ICTY case backgrounder]. The journalists are scheduled to make their initial appearance before the court on September 26, at which time they will enter their pleas. Croatian news agency HINA has more. Link |
