US pilot found guilty of dereliction of duty in "friendly fire" death of Canadian soldiers

The US Air Force has found Major Harry Schmidt guilty of dereliction of duty for accidentally dropping a bomb on Canadian soldiers in Afghanistan. Schmidt, who will receive a written reprimand and forfeit $5,600 in pay, had originally chosen to face court-martial but later opted to defend his actions at a non-judicial hearing.
