JURIST is currently accepting Staff applications from law students around the globe. We are also currently seeking law student Correspondents from the United States and countries across Europe, East Asia, and South Asia. JURIST offers two distinct volunteer writing roles: Staff and Correspondent. While both contribute to JURIST’s coverage of legal developments around the world, the roles differ in the type of writing, time commitment, and editorial focus.
JURIST Staff is made up of law students from around the world who regularly research, write, and edit JURIST News. Staff members volunteer a minimum of 5 hours per week and focus on producing short, timely news stories covering breaking legal news and recent developments. If you enjoy working on deadline and reporting events as they happen, the Staff role is likely the best fit.
JURIST Correspondents are law students who report from their own countries or regions by filing Dispatches. Correspondents produce longer-form, region-specific reporting and analysis of important legal developments in their jurisdictions, choosing their own topics. Dispatches provide greater opportunity to develop a topic, offer local context, and explore issues in more depth than a standard news story. Correspondents are expected to file a minimum of two Dispatches per month to maintain their status.
